Veterans' Info

By producing this web site, we hope to invite those veterans of Barrie and the surrounding area who are interested in meeting five times each year for a social get together - fellowship, dinner, speaker, and even some old war stories.

We have over 150 active members on our mailing list. Our club has been in existence since 1938 and we have not wavered in our devotion and well-being of Veterans.

Members' Pride:  All Members who attend Veterans Club functions are urged to be appropriately turned out by displaying the honours and awards that they have earned.

Any person who has served or is serving in the military is welcome to attend our meetings at the Royal Canadian Legion, Dr. W.C. (Bill) Little M.M. Branch #147, Barrie, ON, at 1700 hrs.

Please note that non-military persons must be approved by the executive. For permission, please contact us at the e-mail address below prior to the meeting.

So, Invite Someone:   For that good old fashioned feeling of belonging and good times with fellow veterans. Come meet comrades of yesterday and today, and make new friends for tommorow. It's the best fellowship of Veterans young and old in CANADA.

Veterans Independence Program (VIP)

The Veterans Independence Program is a national home care program provided by Veterans Affairs Canada. The program was established in 1981 to help clients remain healthy and independent in their own homes or communities.

VIP does not replace other federal, provincial or municipal programs. Instead it complements these programs when necessary, to best meet the needs of our clients.

VIP is only available in Canada. It cannot be offered to clients who live outside of Canada.

Find out about the Veterans Independence Program Expansion through the Legion Veterans' Services Representative - Fern Taillefer.
